Radioactive Material by Air

This course will provide the delegate with sufficient knowledge of radioactive material which is to be offered to an airline for transport. (PLEASE NOTE: Candidates who have obtained an IATA Initial or Refresher Certificate may proceed to book for the Radioactive Course)

 

The course content is as follows: -

• Section 10 of the IATA DGR

• An introduction to Radioactive

• The applicability and limitations which may apply

• Correct Classification of the materials

• Identification of the materials

• Determining activity present

• Packing, packing instructions and criteria for radioactive materials

• Packaging test procedures and requirements

• Marking, labelling and documentation.

 

At the end of the course the candidates will be expected to write an examination. On successful completion of the examination a certificate is issued.  The required pass mark is 80%.
